What is the admission cost to attend an ECF Event?

There is no cost to attend ECF! Registration is free.

Do I need to pre-register for ECF?

Yes! Pre-registration gives you the opportunity to plan your trip to the fair and maximize time available to you. The ECF registration site will allow you to view floor plans, determine times of presentations, and determine which exhibitors are relevant to your interests.  Registration takes very little time but will save you time and energy once you arrive at the fair! Registration will open in September 2017.

Do I need to go to more than one fair?

Not necessarily. ECF tries to ensure exhibitors are present at all five locations and that the programs remain similar.

I am not a high school student. Is this fair still for me?

Yes!  If you are looking for opportunities either to change your career, get additional education, or learn about other industries, ECF is the place the connect and network. ECF works with colleges, career training institutes, industry associations, universities, and employers.

I am not graduating in 2018, should I still come?

Definitely! There are all types of options available at ECF. Come learn about a career with the RCMP would be like or working in the automotive industry! Maybe you will be inspired in a direction you've never imagined.

Will there be information about graduate or professional studies (e.g., teacher's education) at ECF?

ECF is geared towards people about to make a major change in their career growth, from a Grade 12 student about to graduate from secondary school to an adult professional looking to transfer their skills to a different industry. The fair primarily provides information about undergraduate programs.  However, some universities may choose to provide information about graduate and/or professional programs.  Many of the career training institutes will offer more specialized programs.

Will there be a coat or bag check available?

No, due to venue restrictions it will be necessary to keep your personal items with you.  There are no public lockers available at any of the fairs. ECF is not responsible for any lost items.

Am I allowed to eat at the event and will there be food offered?

Out of respect for the exhibitors, ECF Management asks that food and beverage be consumed off the show floor.  However, each venue will have the opportunity to purchase food onsite.

Do I have to stay for the full day or can I come and leave at any time?

The fair will be open between 9am - 2pm. You are free to come and go as you please throughout the day.  However, keep in mind that Learning Lounge Presentations are scheduled throughout the day, and therefore you may consider planning your visit around presentations you want to attend.

Does ECF allow media personnel to take photos/video? Can I distribute materials?

ECF Management asks that any media personnel speak directly to ECF before capturing imagery.  If you are seen taking photos/video without prior consent, you may be asked to leave the event.  ECF Management does not allow anyone other then registered exhibitors to hand out materials. If you are found handing out materials to ECF attendees anywhere on the show floor you will be asked to discard them in bins provided or return them to your vehicle.

What should I wear to ECF?

It is always important to look presentable while interacting with future educators or employers.  There will be no on-site interviews but it is a good opportunity to stand out from the crowd.

What should I bring?

It would be a good idea to bring something to take notes with.  Most exhibitors will not be accepting resumes on-site and therefore it is unnecessary to bring them.

Can I volunteer?

Definitely!  ECF is always looking for volunteers.  Please submit your volunteer information into the correct form here.
