In 2021, Vancouver Film School is leading the way in teaching the next generation of aspiring artists how to tackle the latest changes in the entertainment industry.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, VFS innovated by creating its first hybrid learning model, converting the majority of its programs to online learning, with the possibility of attending on-site as soon as the health authorities deem it safe to do so.
Our 15 industry programs are still available for registration now or for future start dates. Thanks to industry partnerships with Dell Technologies, NVIDIA, and Teradici, students can learn from the safety of their home working with the industry-standard tools used by creative professionals today.
In addition to our full-time program, students can also choose from our new VFS Connect slate of entry-level workshops and online certificate courses in Film Production, Writing for Film & Television, Game Design, Digital Design, and more. VFS Connect provides those who wish to take their first steps into the industry or want to make a career change the opportunity to achieve their dreams.
To gain a better understanding of how the industry works, students, staff, alumni, and industry professionals are invited to attend our Online Industry Talks, featuring conversations and Q&As with leading creatives including Scott Mosier, Rob Cowan, Habib Zargarpour, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Tian Yuan, Lino DiSalvo, Mark Breakspear, Cory Barlog, and Kevin Smith, who was named VFS’s Creative Ambassador for 2020.
Thanks to these new initiatives and more than 30 years of success in the industry, VFS has once again been recognized as one of the leading entertainment arts institutions in the world by Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, The Rookies, and MovieMaker.
