EducationPlannerBC supports a seamless journey into post-secondary education.

EducationPlannerBC supports a seamless journey into post-secondary education. We connect people to education and career opportunities through information, support, and technology.

As an online resource and application service, EducationPlannerBC improves access to post-secondary education in B.C. by engaging and informing students and their supporters throughout their research, planning, and application stages.

Students can access valuable information on our website, such as program and career planning, admission requirements and financial aid options, and easily apply to any of B.C.’s 25 public post-secondary institutions. Last year we had 3.9M website visitors.

In addition to our website resources, we engage with high schools, families, community organizations and at events throughout the province to support students in their post-secondary education planning and decisions.

  • High school engagement – We work with teachers and counsellors to support high school students in planning and transitioning to post-secondary through in-class presentations. Last year we delivered over 280 presentations and reached more than 10,000 students.
  • Parents as Education and Career Coaches workshops – We work with families to help them learn how to best support their student in planning for the future. Last year we reached over 2,100 parents and families.
  • Sector events – We engage with the community, as both sponsor and presenter, to reach students, teachers, counsellors, parents, and families. This year we are involved with Education and Career Fairs, Find Your Fit, BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils, BC School Counsellors Association, and Gathering our Voices.
  • Community partnerships – We have developed important partnerships to support communities through customized presentations. This year we are working closely with SUCCESS to deliver translated presentations to parents and families in Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese speaking communities.

As part of a new French Language Programming initiative in B.C., we are engaging high school students in Core French, French Immersion, and Francophone programs, and their families, to learn about the range of French language education opportunities offered in B.C.’s public post-secondary institutions. Our new presentations will be delivered in French, cover the critical information that we normally provide in our presentations, and will also include an overview of the options for students to continue with French studies, associated career paths, and unique opportunities for French students.
